FS E.402

I have a couple of formations with FS E.402:

  • EuroCity 54/55 "Raffaello" Rome - Zurich
  • EuroCity 70/71 "Colosseum" Rome - Frankfurt

Each requires a different version of the FS E.402A. I got those as ACME 60036 and ACME 60011. Both are analog and decided to convert them to digital. As it turns out, both of them already had a LokPilot installed!

Ferieekspressen "København - Hamburg - Venezia SL" - part 2

ACME released multiple versions of the FS E.652 and so did Rivarossi. It took me a while to pull the trigger, but I got this one at a reasonable price:

ACME 60608 - FS E.625.039 - Ep V.

I bought the DC version and added a ESU LokPilot decoder:

Ferieekspressen "København - Hamburg - Venezia SL" - part 1

A while back, ACME released 2 carriage sets for the Ferieekspressen "København - Hamburg - Venezia SL". I wasn't able to find any pictures besides what is in the 2024 ACME catalog:

Here are the 2 sets:

ACME 55295 - 1x WRD (service car) and 3x Bc-t of the DSB

ACME 55296 - one WLABm 174 (Munich-Kassel bogies) and three Bcmh 246 (2x block brakemen, 1x disc brakemen) of the DB

And here's the train formation on Airtable:

I had everything except the engine, at least until recently!

EuroCity 72/73 "Smetana" (Wien-Praha) - part 3

I bought the DC analog engine, so I needed to equip it with a decoder. It's a 8-pin socket, so I used ESU 59620 DCC:

I bought the DC analog engine, so I needed to equip it with a decoder. It's a 8-pin socket, so I used ESU 59620 DCC:

EuroCity 22/23 "Johann Strauß" (Köln Hbf–Wien Westbf) - part 2

With this formation, I had to find the appropriate engine: a DB BR 103. I was lucky enough to find Roco 72394 at an okay price:

These are all the cars I need for the train formation:

I have one ACME 90126, therefore I need:

  • ACME 90125
  • ACME 90127
  • ÖBB Bmz 73 from ACME 90125 or RailTop 32211, 32212, 32213
  • ÖBB Bmpz 73 from ACME 90126 or RailTop 32221, 32222
  • ÖBB Amz 73 from ACME 90125 or RailTop 32101

EuroCity 22/23 "Johann Strauß" (Köln Hbf–Wien Westbf) - part 1

I recently purchased an ACME car set for the "Johann Strauß" train - I have one and I'd need to find the other two.

MÁV V63 005

I purchased this engine for my Avala and Drava formations. It came in DC and found a DCC Sound decoder from the Hungarian brand DigiTools that I ordered from Vasútmodell.

I found that the "extra" piece needed to be glued again by the buffer on the left side.

It wasn't easy to remove the body. I did follow the instructions; there are no screws or pieces to remove; it was just stuck and I had to force a little, but no damage was done!

It took me a while, a long while, to figure out that the decoder was going underneath the main board. It was my mistake since it was actually written in the manual, but looking at the black plug from above, it seemed logical to put on the top rather than removing screws to put it underneath. Anyway ...

Everything works perfectly on this one (different from my PKP EU07). However, I cannot find out how to change the address from 3 to something else ...
