Rame RRR Nord Pas-de-Calais from Rails Models Creation

 

EPM releases the RRR passenger cars a while back. A version from Nord Pas-de-Calais was supposed to be released, but it never came. Rails Models Creation made the model for me.

Digitization of Euro 4006 Europorte from SudExpress

 

As you'll see in this post, it is quite easy to convert a Euro 4000 from SudExpress into a DCC engine. For a starter, I was lucky to see on SudExpress website that they provide a ESU sound project:

Unboxing

Opening

As mentioned in the manual, there are no screws. Just pull gently on the sides and the chassis will come down fairly easily. The only thing to pay attention is that there are 2 tiny connectors for the head lights that need to be disconnect to fully separate the body from the chassis.

Installing

A small bag is provided in the box with the components required for the speaker.

Putting the 2 tiny screws for the speaker chassis was a bit tricky. I had to unscrew the main PCB a bit to be able to correctly position the speaker chassis with the various holes for screws. 

Configuring

Obviously, the DCC address should be 4006:

Continuing on the recent activities, I set up the digital address for 4 other models.

Mehano T285 7847 - HLD 7764

I set the address to #7764:

Roco 73664 - Traxx E 186 320-8 ECR

I set the address to #320:

This is DCC only - sadly ...

Os.Kar 1546 - BB 475410

I set the address to #7542, because there's already an identical model with address 7541:

AGC B 82500 Nord Pas-de-Calais from Rails Models Creation

 

The Nord Pas-de-Calais region operates two types of AGC: X 76500 and B 82500. I already covered the X 76500 here. Today, we are looking at the other one.

Mehano released this model back in 2006.

I assigned address #4126 on the ECoS:

While I was testing the model on my test bench, I noticed that not all wheels are actually motorized. Take a look at the video; it seems that one axle is moving while the other one is still:

Looking at the manual, it might be normal. I might have to open the bogie and check:
